The value of time is priceless. If you are searching for an area that offers all the comforts with minimal drive time, look no further than Shadow Creek Ranch. The city of Pearland claims the 3,500 acre master planned community.
The city initially named Mark Belt was a siding switch on the Gulf, Sante Fe and Colorado railway in 1882. The name changed to Pearland in November 1893 due to the abundance of pear trees in the area.
It is safe to say that anyone would rather be just about anywhere else besides sitting in Houston traffic. Instead of waiting, take a drive on Highway 288, and you will find Shadow Creek Ranch in the 288 Corridor just south of Beltway 8. If you need to take a trip, the neighborhood is more or less fifteen to twenty minutes away from the Texas Medical Center, Hobby Airport, and Downtown.
Approximately 3,000 businesses have locations near the community in the Central Business District just south of 288. Some of which include Shell Oil, Exxon Mobil, CenterPoint, Chevron, El Paso Corporation, Halliburton, U of H, and Continental Airlines.
If you are looking for leisure outdoor activities, look no further. Not only are there numerous playgrounds, hike/bike trails, and parks dispersed throughout the community, you can utilize the recreation centers, the water park, and sports complex no matter where you live in Shadow Creek Ranch.
Diamond Bay Water Park – enjoy the elaborate water slides in the vibrant swimming pool, or play in the toddler pool with your little ones. Don’t like to get wet? Instead play volleyball on the sand court, barbeque in the picnic area, or play on the playground with your children.
Reflection Bay Recreation Center – this private center offers a lap pool, diving well, toddler pool, a picnic pavilion, two sand volley ball courts, basket ball courts, and a horseshoe pit.
Emerald Bay Recreation Center – if you like tennis, take a walk to this recreation center. There are two tennis courts, and after a heated match take a lap in the lap pool. For entertaining, there is a 600 square foot clubhouse that is great for parties. If you would prefer to have an outdoor get together feel free to use the picnic area for a summer barbeque!
Biscayne Bay Recreation Center – For those who like to golf, there is a putting green at Biscayne Bay. Or you can relax in the resort style pool area, with wading pool, two lap pools, and a splash pad.
Sports Complex – Play softball or baseball on lighted turf fields, and enjoy the amphitheater as well!
Nature Park – Preserving the environment is important. Jog or stroll along the Wetlands Park while you become one with nature.
